East Rutherford, NJ, December 1, 2022 - Stop & Shop and the New York Giants are again teaming up this holiday season to help Food Bank For New York City, the city's largest hunger-relief organization, fight hunger across the five boroughs. An annual tradition since 1997, the New York Giants have supported a food drive to help feed thousands of hungry New Yorkers.
From December 1st-25th, fans in New York and New Jersey can shop online at StopandShop.com for pickup or delivery and add a donation of $1, $3, $5, $10 or $20 to their cart at checkout. All donations will benefit Food Bank For New York City. A QR code will also be available to fans who wish to donate.
"Stop & Shop is again proud to team up with the New York Giants and Food Bank for New York City to fight hunger across the boroughs," said Stefanie Shuman, Stop & Shop's External Communications Manager. "We encourage Giants fans to make a donation when they shop stopandshop.com for delivery and pickup. 100% of that donation goes to Food Bank For New York City to help fight hunger this holiday season."

To help further support the drive, Giants Defensive Lineman Leonard Williams will promote details on his and the Giants social media channels. When the Giants host the Washington Commanders on Sunday, December 4, the food drive's QR code will be displayed on pylon signage and video boards around the stadium as a call to action for all fans in attendance.
"It's an honor to join Stop & Shop as we use the collective power of Giants fans to support Food Bank For New York City, and their amazing work of providing over 121 million meals in a year to our neighbors of all ages," said Leonard Williams of the New York Giants. "I encourage everyone to contribute to this effort by making a donation online when they purchase their own Stop & Shop groceries for pickup or delivery from December 1st through December 25th."
"Every year, Giants fans have impressed us with their generous contributions to help feed thousands of New Yorkers in need through the Food Bank For New York City," said Allison Stangeby, Vice President of Community and Corporate Relations at the New York Giants. "We are thrilled to once again have our long-time partner, Stop & Shop, join us for another season of giving."
"We are thrilled to be working with our long-standing partners at the New York Giants and Stop & Shop for another year this holiday season," said Leslie Gordon, Food Bank For New York City's President and CEO. "As post pandemic and inflation continues to effect New Yorkers across the city, pantry lines keep increasing by 10% year over year. Thanks to the support of our corporate and government partners, volunteers, donors, and many others we were able to distribute 121 million meals this past year, more than ever in a single year and we look forward to continuing to help New Yorkers in need, especially during the holiday season, with healthy and nutritious foods."

About Food Bank For New York City
Food Bank For New York City has been fighting hunger on the ground since 1983. By partnering with over 800 soup kitchens, food pantries, and campus partners across the five boroughs, Food Bank is able to make a direct impact in the communities that need it most, providing some 1.2 billion meals to New Yorkers since its founding. But food alone can't solve hunger. That's why Food Bank employs a two-prong approach of Community Nourishment programming (to provide immediate and reliable access to food today) with Economic Empowerment programming (to equip people with the tools they need to achieve food security into tomorrow and beyond). All of these services – from grab-and-go pantry bags to hot meals, tax filing assistance, SNAP enrollment, nutrition education, and financial empowerment workshops – are free and available to anyone who needs them.
